Quote of the day: "Aw man, I ain't never sellin' a bike again" -Drunk guy who unloaded a stolen bike on us, after being nabbed by the cops. It musta been the summer heat--it was quite the day at the shop. We will be closed on Friday and Saturday in order to blow stuff up and eat grilled meats and such. Maybe we'll even get a bike ride in. Sunday we are back to normal hours--closed. We'll be bright/red-eyed and bushy/stinky-tailed on Monday morning. And if you're looking for a little dirty rock n' roll action to start the weekend, come check out my band 4130. Yafro, ex-OOOBS, used to play bass for the band. When he left for the West, I took over on 4 string duties. We'll being playing Thursday night at Stasius up der in Nordeast Minneapolis. -BP

Summer is officially here: the days are long, the nights seem even longer, and we're busy gettin people out on their bikes. We also have a full plate of bike events on cue. This weekend the folks putting on the Bike Film Festival present Frame X Frame, a photo exhibit featuring local photogs and their candid shots of Mpls bikers in their native element. Saturday afternoon, I am hosting a cruiser ride around town in conjunction with Frame X Frame. Meet at the Nomad at 2:00 for beers and BBQ. We will depart at about 3:00 and visit a number of art-themed stops. Highlights include the Minnesota Center for Photography, where there will be a photo booth for you to ham it up with your friends. We will also swing by Altered Esthetics for the closing party for their current Bike Art installation. Our final destination will be One On One, for the opening reception for Frame X Frame. Refreshments will be provided at some stops, although it never hurts to bring your own. This is a CRUISE, not a race. Pace will be mellow, no one will be dropped. We'll have a couple folks to help with any flats or mechanical issues you might have. If you can't make the ride, the reception runs from 7:00 til 10:00pm. Expect the usual alley antics. The photo exhibit runs through July 12, which is not coincidentally during the Bike Film Fest.. While OOOBS is not showing any movies, we are hosting the party on Saturday July 12. Check out the website or stop on in for a program, the selection of movies is stellar and the parties promise to be a good time. Keep your mouses pointed here for more upcoming event info. -BP
